Management Team
Daniela Fredericks, Principal | Nomthandazo Margaret Shumi (Thandi), Grade R Teacher | Sisanda Bolo, Grade R Teacher | ||
Daniela has been involved in Emyezweni since 2011. Principal since February 2016, she is the first South African principal at Emyezweni. She is a trained teacher (BA, HDE), with experience in teaching pre-, primary, high school, as well as adult education. She is a qualified assessor and moderator. | Thandi has been with Emyezweni since 1992, when the school was founded. She has brilliant relationships with families in the community and is a great teacher. Her behaviour management skills are impressive and her class is an extremely calm, relaxing, and happy place to learn. | Sisanda started teaching Gr R this year, she joined our staff in 2013. She is a very enthusiastic teacher, with much storytelling, laughing, singing, dancing, and acting going in on her class. She likes the challenge of the children’s unpredictable behaviour. |
Noludwe Mkhunyana, Pre-Grade R Teacher | Nomthandazo Gloria Mazembe (Gloria), Toddler Class Teacher | |
Noludwe, who joined our staff in 2017, started teaching Pre-Gr r this year. Noludwe is a vibrant teacher who brings much joy to her teaching space. Seeing teaching as her calling, she is currently enrolled for her 2nd year ECD Diploma studies at a local technical university. | Gloria joined Emyezweni staff in 2010. With one of the most challenging jobs in the school, Gloria does a brilliant job of keeping our 3-4-year-old learners entertained whilst also ensuring they are learning! Gloria, a very loving and motherly teacher, loves the little ones’ continuous chatter and laughter. |
Support Staff

Busi, who often did voluntary work at our school before then, joined our staff in 2016. She is calm and loving and assists Sisanda. Busi is especially pleased with the Christian ethos at Emyezweni. | Nomthandazo joined our staff in 2016, lives a few steps from the school, and has great relationships in the local community. She assists Thandi, and her artistic flair is well displayed in the school. | Ncumisa, who was a learner at Emyezweni, joined our staff in 2015. She now supports Noludwe and is enrolled for her 1st year ECD Diploma at the same university as Noludwe. We are so proud of and encouraged by these two young ladies. |

Sinalo is a 1st year/ Level 1 ECD Learnership learner at a local College, spending 4 days per week as Gloria’s assistant in the Toddler class as the practical side of her studies. | Pauline, with more than 15 years at Emyezweni, is always first at school, where she cooks breakfast for all the children. She also prepares delicious, varied, and healthy lunches for them every day. |
